Cong takes on Ramdev in MP

Bhopal, Feb 19 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi today expressed strong protest against a proposal to allot land to Yoga guru Ramdev for an ashram in Jabalpur district.

''Land belonging to tribals and the poor is being wrested by the government. The selfishness and conspiracy, of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, is behind the move,'' she said in a statement.

Declaring that Congress MLAs would not take part in Ramdev's camp tomorrow in the Vidhan Sabha premises, the tribal leader added that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's wife Sadhana was presiding over the camp organising committee and that was why Nelson's eye was being turned on the rules while allotting land.

''Tax evasion took place in the sale of tickets for Ramdev's public camp here. I demand that the Chief Minister should order an inquiry,'' Ms Devi said.
