Police officials also claimed the bandh was peaceful and all kind of activities, including vehicular traffic, was normal.
An unofficial source said barring the Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC), a few private buses were also plying.
All kind of business establishments, shops and markets remained closed today in view of the 12-hour bandh.

The bandh was called to protest last Thursday's alleged police atrocities on NSUI activists while they were on their way to submit a memorandum to the state Chief Secretary in support of their charter of demands.
The NSUI had also alleged that the distribution of jobs to unemployed youth was a 'false propaganda' of the ruling government.
