WR suspends Passenger Reservation System temporarily
Ahmedabad, Feb 18 (UNI) The Passenger Reservation System (PRS) of the Western Railway will be shut down from 1700 hrs this evening to 0800 hrs the next day, to change software to increase the advance reservation period.
During this period, Interactive Voice Response System-based computerised enquiry, current reservation and refund counters will not work either, WR sources said.
Shut down of the PRS system will not have any impact as the booking of tickets though, sources said.
The Ministry of Railways had earlier decided to increase the advance reservation period from 60 days to 90 days excluding the date of journey wih effect from March one on an experimental basis.
There will be no change in case of certain daytime express trains where lower time limits for advance reservations are in force as also reservation limit of the 360 days for foreign tourists.
