PIB to campaign on Centre's programmes

Itanagar, Feb 18 (UNI) The Press Information Bureau (PIB) will begin a four-day national level Public Information Campaign on the Centre's various sponsored schemes at Daporijo, in Arunachal's Upper Subansiri district, from February 22.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had expressed his desire that awareness campaigns on centrally sponsored schemes should be conducted throughout the country by the PIB.

The programmes included in the campaign are the Bharat Nirman Programme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Right to Information Act, Mid-Day Meal Programme, National Rural Health Mission, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Integrated Child Development Service Scheme, Prime Minister's New 15-point programme for the welfare of the minorities and campaign on HIV/AIDS which have been launched in various parts of the country.

Besides, the PIB would record the feedback of the people here and forward it to the Prime Minister's Office.

Beneficiaries would directly interacting with officials headed by the concerned deputy commissioners.
