Moles removed from Bush's face are not cancerous

WASHINGTON, Feb 18 (Reuters) Two moles removed from President George W Bush's left temple were found to be non-cancerous, the White House said yesterday.

Bush had pointed out one of the moles to his personal physician, Richard Tubb, on Monday. Tubb found the second one, and both were removed on Friday by a dermatologist.

''Both lesions are benign,'' said White House spokesman Alex Conant.

Bush, who is expected to have a one-inch scab for a week to 10 days as a result of the removal, has suffered the effects of sun exposure in the past. He has had benign growths removed before, most recently in December 2004.
