Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have solved a fake robbery case planned by a youth to deceive his father.

Police said Faisal Javaid, a resident of Basant Bagh, lodged a complaint with police station Barzulla that some unidentified persons abducted him and later looted Rs 20,000 on February 9, after inflicting cuts on his neck.

Faisal has alleged that he drew Rs 20,000 from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Barzulla. However, when he was on the way home, the incident took place.

But during the investigation, police found that no money was withdrawn by him from the bank and so there was no question of robbery.

Further investigation revealed that Faisal was receiving Rs 500 every month from his father to deposit in the recurring deposit in his name in the bank for the past several years.

Instead of depositing the money in the bank he had spent it without the knowledge of his father. However, when the father asked him to get the money, he staged the robbery drama. There was in fact no money in the bank, the police added.

The Police said Faisal inflicted some cuts on his neck to mislead his father and the police.

The news had hit the local newspaper headlines with the photograph of Faisal.
