Former militant gets life term for killing three

Patiala, Feb 18 (UNI) The TADA court in Nabha jail has sentenced former militant Dilbagh Singh Bagha to life imprisonment for killing three members of a family.

Special Session judge Bhupinder Singh also ordered arrest of Bagha, who is presently on bail. The court has sentenced him to life imprisonment under section 302 of the IPC and section 4 of TADA Act and also announced seven and five years jail term for other sections of IPC.

Bagha was convicted for killing three memebrs of the family in Atalan village. Rajwinder Kaur, who was also injured in the attack in which her parents were killed, had registered an FIR against Bagha.

In her complaint, Ms Kaur had stated that some militants led by Bagha came to their farmhouse at the outskirts of the village and shot dead her father Gurbachan Singh and uncle Rachhpal Singh inside the house and also gunned down her mother, who was working in the fields.

The Ghagga police had registered a case under section 302, 397, and 450 of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of TADA Act against the accused.
