Arrangements RMC elections made

Rajahmundry, Feb 18 (UNI) Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation (RMC) Special Observer M V P C Sastry today expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for elections tomorrow.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Sastry said 185 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) would be placed in the polling stations for 1,95,840 voters to excercise their franchise in 50 wards.

East Godavari District Collector M Subramanyam said all precautions have been taken to conduct the polls in a peaceful manner.

District Superintendent of Police B Srinivasan said more than 2,500 police personnel were deployed in the town to ensure incident-free elections.

UNI
