JK:Compensation to 91 militancy affected families

Srinagar, Feb 18: The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctionedex-gratia relief in favour of 91 militancy-affected families in thefrontier district of Kupwara, an official spokesman said.

He said the District level Screening Committee (DSC) took up aboutone hundred cases of militancy victims in Kupwara district of northKashmir.

After thorough discussion with the representatives of police, Armyand revenue agencies, the committee decided to pay ex-gratia relief infavour of 91 cases.

He said in two death cases, Rs one lakh each have been sanctionedwhile compensation was also paid to seven injured persons and 82persons whose property was damaged in militancy related incidents inthe district.
