Ranchi, Feb 17(UNI) Three people, including two children, were injured today in a bomb explosion at Kalyanpur area of Jharkhand's Deoghar district.

Police also recovered at least six bombs from the outskirts of the town early this morning.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Kaushik told UNI over phone that miscreants threw the bombs, packed in boxes, on both the sides of the Satasang Nagar bypass.

Narrating the incident, Mr Kaushik said two children of a family, Akash and Pintu, who were playing in the area, had picked up a box and went home at Kalyanpur.

As they opened the box, the bomb went off injuring them, besides another woman.

Mr Kaushik said six more bombs were recovered from the area and diffused adding that the bombs were of low intensity.

Security has been beefed up in and around 'Baidyanathdham,' a temple, in view of the Intelligence reports indicating steppeding Maoist activities in the city.

However, Mr Kaushik claimed the explosion across was a militant attack as the spot from where bomb was recovered was far from the Baidyanathdham temple.

The children had been admitted to the Sadar Hospital and the woman to a private clinic, he said.
