TDP completes membership drive

Hyderabad, Feb 17 (UNI) The General Secretary of the Opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) E Pedddi Reddy said that the party's membership drive had been compelted and the elections to the mandal and village level committees would start from April.

Talking to newspersons here, he said, 87 per cent of the membership drive work had been compeleted, as against the targeted 19.19 lakh active members while 90 percent work was completed for ordinary members, as against 39.87 lakh.

Mr Reddy said the party given time till February 27 to complete the remaining work. The party State committee chaired by its President N Chandrababu Naidu met here today and selected the candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Members of Legislative Council(MLC) from the Graduates and Teachers Constituencies, he added.
