Shanishchari Amavasya in MP

Ujjain, MP, Feb 17 (UNI) Thousands of devotees undertook ritual bathing today at the Kshipra river's Triveni Ghat on the occasion of Shanishchari Amavasya before worshipping at the Navagraha shrine on the outskirts of this ancient temple town.

Triveni Ghat, beside the Indore Road, is six km from here.

Ujjain bore a crowded look on Mahashivratri yesterday also as the devotees thronged to the Mahakaleshwar shrine, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

As per the custom, devotees abandoned their clothes and footwear in the vicinity of the 'Shani' temple and put on new ones.
