Rain likely in North Eastern states

Pune, Feb 17 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

They are also likely to occur in Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, Himalchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar isles.

Dry weather will prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Lakshadweep.

Cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. They were below normal in Jammu and in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, west Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

The temperatures were appreciably above normal in parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. They were above normal in Srinagar and in parts of east Madhya Pradesh and in remaining parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The temperatures were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh, at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya.

Dry weather had prevailled over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala.
