Pilgrims killed in road mishap

Madhepura, Feb 17 (UNI) Five women pilgrims were killed and two injured when an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling collided head on with a truck near Laloo village under Singheshwar police station in Madhepura district last night.

Police today said the tragedy occurred when the victims were coming back home after offering obeisance to Lord Shiva on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Three of the victims identified as Janki Devi, Rekha Devi and Usha Devi. were all residents of Saidpur village in Khagaria district.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
