Cold conditions persist due to North-easterlies

Jaipur, Feb 17: Cold conditions persist in Rajasthan as north-easterly cyclonic winds continue to blow across the state, bringing down temperatures by at least one to two degrees Celsius at many places.

Ganganagar was cold at 7.4 degrees Celsius today, becoming the coldest place in the state among the plains. The state's only hill station Mount Abu mapped five degrees Celsius.

Although the temperature increased by 1 degree Celsius from yesterday in the state capital, yet the cold winds today are forcing people to keep their woollies on. The minimum temperature recorded here was ten degrees Celsius.

According to the Weather Office, the north-easterly winds have been responsible for the cold this February. Some places recorded a rise of one to two degrees Celsius while some others experienced a fall of one to two degrees Celsius.

Pilani in Jhunjhunu and City of lakes Udaipur recorded nine degrees Celsius, Churu 11 degrees, Bharatpur and Sawai Madhopur 11.8 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 12.6 degrees, Barmer and Jaisalmer 13.2 degrees Ajmer 13.4 degrees, Bundi 14 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur 14.1 degrees, Jhalawar 14.6 degrees Kota 15.4 degrees and Rawatbhata 16.2 degrees Celsius.
