Munda flays Koda govt for low budget
Ranchi, Feb 17 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly Arjun Munda today flayed the Madhu Koda-led UPA government for seeking Rs 6,676 crore from the Planning Commission for the next fiscal, saying it was a ''suicidal'' step.
Mr Munda, the former chief minister, said the government should have projected at least Rs 9,000 crore for the job.
He said the previous governments made substantial demands for both long and short term policies and accordingly, the commission's allocation was also satisfactory.
He said the Koda government's financial management was merely a flop show as it lacked any planned commitment to spend the earmarked funds.
Mr Munda said the fund demanded for the next fiscal stood in no comparison to people's demands following the inflation witnessed in the country.
