Ranchi, Feb 17 (UNI) Jharkhand's leader of Opposition Arjun Munda today flayed the Madhu Koda-led UPA government for seeking Rs 6,676 crore from the Planning Commission for the next fiscal, saying it was a ''suicidal'' step.

Mr Munda, the former Chief Minister, said the government should have projected at least Rs 9,000 crore for the job.

He said the previous governments made substantial demands for both long and short term policies and accordingly the commission's allocation was also satisfactory.

He said the Koda government's financial management was merely a flop show as it lacked any planned commitment to spend the earmarked funds.

The opposition leader said the fund demanded for the next fiscal stood no comparison to people's demand following inflation witnessed in the country.
