Engineering college in every district: Koda

Daltonganj, Feb 17 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today announced that every district in the state will have a engineering college and an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in every block.

Mr Koda while laying the foundation stone of an engineering college at Nawadih said government would also provide education to the poor and deprived children.

Mr Koda also approved the establisment of Neelambar Peetambur University and the foundation stone for the building would be laid soon.

Refering to the Palamu Parliamentary seat bypoll, Mr Koda said, '' The UPA candidate will win the bypoll, for which the date was yet to be announced.'' Criticising the erstwhile BJP-led NDA government, Mr Koda said the previous government had failed to do anything for the poor.

Citing the achievements of the Madhu Koda government, State Human Resources Minister Bandhu Tirkey said the government has approved to establish 40 colleges so far.

Mr Tirkey also said about 12,500 teachers would be appointed adding that five per cent seats would be reserved for Urdu teachers.
