Kathmandu, Feb 17: Hindu activists here took out a demonstration taking Trishuls (tridents) demanding to declare Nepal a Hindu state.

King Gyanendra's carcade was also stoned last evening near Pashupatinath temple, where he had gone to pay homage to Lord Pashupatinath on the occasion of Mahashivratri. One student was arrested on the charge of stoning the carcade.

The King was also not invited as the Chief Guest at the Army Day, which was celebrated in Kathmandu yesterday, as the King has been suspended in the new interim constitution until the election of the new constituent Assembly that will decide the future of 239 year old monarchy in the Himalayan nation.

The world's only Hindu Kingdom was declared a secular state last year following the success of the popular movement.
