Centre committed to futher develop agriculture: Shivraj

Morena, MP, Feb 17 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj V Patil today claimed that the Centre's United Progressive Alliance government was committed to bringing about overall development of agriculture.

''The Centre is drafting fresh policies for such development. New technical schemes are being presented to the state governments and it is the latter's responsibility to implement them,'' he said while addressing a Congress rally at this district's Jaura township.

He praised young MPs Rahul Gandhi, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot and others for constantly raising up development and security issues in Parliament.

''The Centre is ready to render all assistance vis-a-vis Madhya Pradesh's law and order situation. The state government should halt any form of chaos in the name of religion,'' Mr Patil added.

Mr Scindia and state Congress President Subhash Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
