41 per cent increase in Indian soyameal export
Indore, Feb 17: Total exports of soyabean meal has jumped 41 percent till January this year as compared to the same period last year.
Exports touched 31.7 lakh tonnes in the first 10 months of this financial year as against 22.4 lakh tonnes during the same period last year, showing a jump of 41 percent.
Mr Rajesh Agrawal, Coordinator of Soybean Processers Association of India, said, in a release here today, that export of soybean meal during January, 2007 was 5.35 lakh tonnes as against 4.63 lakh tonnes in January last year.
The export figures on the Oil year (October- September) basis showed an increased performance by the trade. Exports during October'06 to January'07 were 17.36 lakh tonnes as compared to 15.02 lakh tonnes during the previous year, he added.
