White House parries question on UN seat

Washington, Feb 16: White House spokesman Tony Snow has parried a question about India's demand for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.

''I'm not aware that we have an official position,'' he said when asked about the US stand on the demand.

''That is not meant to be a snub. That is meant to be a flat statement that the Press Secretary is not aware of,'' the spokesman said.
