Veteran freedom fighter passes away
Jaunpur, Feb 16 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter Bechan Vishwakarma passed away at Kardaha village in Kerakat area here in the wee hours today.
He was 95.
Influenced by the call of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Vishwakarma joined the freedom movement at a young age.
He was jailed during the 1942 Quit India Movement.
Meanwhile, he has been cremated at Manikarnikaghat in Varanasi with full state honours.
Former Arunachal Pradesh Governor Mata Prasad has condoled his death.
