ULFA cadre killed in encounter

Itanagar, Feb 16 (UNI) A suspected ULFA cadre was killed in an encounter between the rebels and 21 para special force battalion of the Army at Emphum village under Chowkham sub-division of Lohit district.

According to highly placed sources here today, two magazines and 52 rounds of live ammunitions were recovered from his possession yesterday morning.

Polices sources said the body had been handed over to Namasi police but its identity is yet to be established.

Other members of the group are suspected to have escaped after fierce fighting, sources added.
