Nagpur, Feb 16 (UNI) A naxalite, who had surrendered before the police four months ago, was murdered allegedly by naxalites belonging to the Surjagarh Dalam in Gadchiroli district of Vidarbha.
Gadhiroli Superintendent of Police Shirish Jain said, ''About 12 Naxalites, led by Surjagarh Dalam Commander Bharati Akka and Manku Pada, murdered Shyamrao Fakri Dhurva (28), a resident of village Tambda in Etapalli taluka of Gadchiroli district last Thrusday.'' The deceased, Dhurva had been active in naxal movement and was involved in encounters with the police at Ekansur, Pendulwahi and Pipli Burgi. He was also involved in the murder of Border Roads Organisation engineer M Ganesan in January 2006, Mr Jain said.

Following Dhurva's murder, Etapalli Police have registered a case in this regard and police teams have been sent in search of the naxalites.
