Special prayers offered on Mahashivratri

Ranchi, Feb 16 (UNI) Special prayers were offered at all temples, including the 'Dwadash Jyotirling' of Lord Shiva at Baidyanathdham of the state on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

Devotees were seen standing in long queues since last midnight in the temple premises to perform pooja by offering milk and flowers to the God.

Devotees also thronged the Pahari temple here besides the famous Basukinath, Daninath, Sirsanath and Sumbheshwarnath temples in the second capital Dumka.

Special arrangements were made by the temple trusts and various puja committees to enable worshippers perform pooja systematically due to heavy crowd.

Elaborate security arrangements were made at all the temples in state capital and other districts to tackle any eventuality, police said.
