Snowfall at Shimla, Kufri

Shimla, Feb 16 (UNI) Shimla and its surrounding areas received another spell of mild snowfall and sleet this afternoon, plummeting the temperature.

Certain upper areas of Shimla district, including tourist resort of Kufri, also experienced snowfall. The Tourist resort recorded 5 cm of fresh snow today.

Higher reaches in Pangi and Bharmaur areas in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh also had intermittent snow and rain while the weather remained cloudy in Kullu and Chamba district. The sky was clear over the tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti.

Shimla recorded the minimum temperature at 0.2 degrees celsius, Kalpa -4.7 celsius, Sundernagar 3.5 degrees celsius and Bhuntar 4.3 degrees celsius.

The maximum temperature at Shimla was 8.6 degrees celsius.

The met office has predicted mild snow and rain at many places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
