Jet to start Kol-Dhaka flights soon

Kolkata, Feb 16 (UNI) Jet Airways will soon connect Kolkata with Dhaka, along with its latest international destination to Bangkok.

Company sources said here today Jet Airways will soon start operations on Kolkata-Dhaka-Delhi route.

Plans are afoot to tap the Dhaka London traffic that goes via Delhi through this seven-day a week operation. The Kolkata-Bangkok flight operations have started a fortnight ago and the response has been very encouraging, the sources of one of the fasted growing domestic carriers said.

The company sources further said it will increase its fleet from a present strength of four to six at the Kolkata base.

In future in its international destination they are targetting Singapore through Bangkok, as a revival of the old air route.

The sources further said that the Kolkata-Dhaka-Delhi flight will have tickets that are priced a little higher that that of Indian Airlines and Bangladesh Biman, considering the quality of product that will be on service.

In its domestic map, Jet plans to start Kolkata, Vizag, Bhubaneswar and Ranchi flights.

It has also been learnt that by the turn of next year Jet will acquire 30 more aircraft that will include a few 777 and Airbus 330.
