IBM Daksh plans centre in Vishakapattinam

New Delhi, Feb 17: Bullish on India's talent pool, IBM Daksh is planning to expand its operations by setting-up a new delivery centre in Vizag soon.

"We will be launching a facility in Vizag, as it is a good tier II city for expansion. We will make a formal announcement soon," IBM Daksh CEO, Pavan Vaish told ET.

The company has 17 delivery centers across seven cities in India and Philippines. Its facilities are spread across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Manila.

"From a BPO standpoint, India serves more as a hub to export services worldwide than as a market itself. However, Mr Vaish and his team are in the process of building the native operations as well, and we have some interesting clients on board. On the whole we are bullish on India for its enormous talent pool," Mr Erich Clementi, General Manager, managed business process services, IBM Corporation said.
