Honeywell Technology Solutions ordered closure notice

Bangalore, Feb 16 (UNI) Software firm Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab Pvt Ltd, located in the city, has been served with closure notice by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for non-compliance with Acts regarding water and air pollution.

A Board release here today said the firm was discharging sewage effluents and emissions in the atmosphere without the valid consent of the Board, thereby violating section 25 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and Section 21 of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Repeated inspections at the facility confirmed the violation.

As the company did not file any objection to the notices issued, it was decided to issue closure order to close the industrial operation or process forthwith until further orders, the Board said.

The Board also directed the BESCOM Managing Director to issue necessary instructions to the department officials to cut off power supply to the firm immediately. Besides, the Electrical Inspector was directed to issue necessary instructions to the officials concerned to disconnect the DG set and withdraw the license issued for operation of the DG set of the company, it added.
