Four held on charges of theft

Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) The City Police have arrested four persons for allegedly stealing electronic goods worth Rs 16 lakh, from an electronics show room at suburb Madhavaram, last night.

City Police Commissioner Ms Letika Saran said, the theft was going on for the last two months with the active connivance of two of showroom guards. Abetting the offence, the guards had not been locking one of the eight doors of the showroom and their two associates stole away T V sets, home theatre and other electronic goods.

The arrested were identified as Mari and Khadermohideen (guards) and Rajavel and Pushparaj.

Police have recovered the stolen goods from different places, where they were disposed of at cheaper prices.

The arrested were remanded to judicial custody, she added.
