Electricity office vandalised, office records burnt
Nagpur, Feb 16 (UNI) A mob today set afire office records at the premises of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at Khamgaon in Buldhana district of Vidarbha region.
Around 10 to 15 farmers, irate over loadsheddings in their villages, entered the office and broke furniture, threw away files and also beat the employees on duty.
Later, the mob poured petrol on the records at the office and set it ablaze. As the fire picked up, the mob fled from the spot, Mr A R Thakur, Deputy Executive Engineer, MSEDCL Khamgaon, said.
The office employees however doused the fire.
The Khamgaon police have registered offences against unidentified persons.
