Curfew in the city followed by tension is lifted: MP
Indore, Feb 16: The curfew, clamped in part of the city on February 12 following communal tension, was today lifted with the situation limping back to normal.
''With the prevalence of normal situation, there was no need for curfew. However, police deployment would continue and a strict vigil would be maintained,'' Acting Collector Renu Pant said.
Curfew was imposed on Chhatripura, Malharganj and Pandrinath police station areas due to arson and violence after an incident of eve-teasing. Night curfew, clamped in four other police station areas, had already been withdrawn.
More than 200 people had been detained for violence. About a dozen people were injured in violent incidents and at least 20 weapons seized during house searches, police said.
