Curfew lifted from Indore
Indore, Feb 16 (UNI) Curfew, clamped in part of the city on February 12 following communal tension, was lifted today with the situation limping back to normalcy.
''With the prevalence of normal situation, there was no need for curfew. However, police deployment would continue and a strict vigil to be maintained'', Acting Collector Renu Pant said.
Curfew was clamped in Chhatripura, Malharganj and Pandrinath police station areas due to arson and violence after an incident of eve-teasing. Night curfew clamped in four other police station areas had already been withdrawn.
More than 200 people had been detained for violence or for curfew violation. About a dozen people were injured in violent incidents. About 20 weapons were seized during house searches, police said.
