Andhra Pradesh: Brahmotsavam concludes with Chakarasnanam
Tirupati, Feb 16: The nine-day Annual Brahmotsavam of Kalyana Venkateswaraswamy concluded with Chakarasnanam of Lord's disc dipped in the temple tank performed this morning, as hundreds of devotees took a holy dip in the pushkarani chanting 'Govinda' Govinda' at Srinivasa Mangapuram about 15 kms from here today.
Earlier in the day, the processional deity of Lord Kalyana Venkateswaraswamy, along with his consorts Sridevi and Boodevi, were taken in a procession decorated with Palaki(palanquin) to the temple tank from where the chief priest performed the 'Abhishegam' to the idols, amid chanting of vedic hymns.
Later, the Sudharsana Chakara of the Lord was given holy dip in the sacred waters of the Pushkarani.
In the evening, 'Dwaja Avarohanam' would be performed when the celestial Garuda flag would be lowered, marking the conclusion of the nine-day fete.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) Joint Executive Officer Srikanth, Deputy Executive Officer of local temples, Vasudevan, among others had witnessed the grandfinale.
