Ascetic found dead in 'samadhi'

Pratapgarh, Feb 16 (UNI) An ascetic, who had assumed 'samadhi' 23 days back in a wooden chest here, was found dead by his disciples today.

Official sources said Lal Baba, 40, had entered the chest on January 25 in City Kotwali area of Chilbila town, proclaiming he was assuming a state of 'samadhi'.

When the chest was opened on the occasion of Maha Shivratri today by his disciples, he was found dead.

Earlier too, the ascetic had undergone similar 'samadhis' twice and come out alive.

He was a native of Amethi tehsil in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
