Mumbai, Feb 16 (UNI) Essex County Council leader Lord Hanningfield has stressed that there are ample opportunities for India and his Council to cooperate in sectors like pharmaceuticals, information technology, and infrastructure development.

Lord Hanningfield made the observations during a recent meeting with representatives of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), according to a press release here.

He said retailing and distribution are big businesses in Essex and here, too, there are opportunities for collaboration.

Lord Hanningfield was accompanied by Mr Brandon Hallam, the Essex County Council's head of Policy and International Relations.

While speaking on the occasion, AIAI president Vijay Kalantri India and the UK have a lot of common interests and UK is one of the biggest trading partners of India. The UK can be a hub for business with European countries, he said.
