49 birds recoverd from Howrah

Howrah, Feb 16 (UNI) Police recovered about 49 birds from Bantra in the district.

Police and Forest Department officials conducted a joint raid yesterday after being tipped-off and arrested one Robin Srivastav along with the birds.

Additional District Forest Officer Pradip Kumar Dutta said the birds were brought from Bihar and added that the rescued birds would be kept in the Salt Lake Animal Rescue Centre temporarily.

Police is carrying out further investigation into the matter.
