Youth held for minor's murder
Ahmedabad, Feb 14 (UNI) The city police arrested a 23-year-old youth in connection with the mysterious murder of a ten-year old boy in Nanrapura area of the city.
Police yesterday said they have nabbed one Kedar Vijaykumar Bhavsar, a neighbour of the boy. During the preliminary investigation, the accused told them that he killed Henil Kamleshbhai Patel on Monday in a fit of rage as the latter was teasing him publicly for the last few days by calling him ''impotent'' and instigating other kids too.
Bhavsar called Henil on the terrace of the Madhur Milan building by luring him to show some magic and killed him by slitting his throat. However, another boy Ujval (10) witnessed this ghastly act and narrated the incident to the police yesterday.
Police said Ujval could not tell the truth to his parents or police on Monday as Bhavsar had threatened him with his life.
During the investigation, the police found that Bhavsar had worn hand-gloves and used a sharp-edged knife to kill Henil. Later, to destroy the evidence, he had thrown the murder weapon, gloves and his clothes into a nearby gutter.
A case has been registered, police added.
