Woodstock to launch speciality residential complex for IT/ITeS

Bangalore, Feb 14 (UNI) The country's first speciality residential community to address the singles accommodation needs of professionals in the IT and ITeS sector will be unveiled in three months by Woodstock Ambience.

Company CEO K S Ravishankar told newspersons here that a 528-room complex, coming up in an area of 2.25 acres close to the Electronic City, could accommodate approximately 1,000 individuals. It would offer the IT and ITeS majors located in the Electronic city a solution to their residential, security and transportation issues.

He said the company was planning three other similar projects -- a second one in Bangalore and one each in Chennai and Pune to cater to the growing IT sector. The first project was estimated to cost around Rs 32 crore. Over the next three years, the company would spend Rs 200 crore, creating 3,000 rooms.

Mr Ravishankar said the facility would be a home away from home for the inmates, especially the freshers in the sector, as they would enjoy various facilities at the complex, including laundry, cafetaria, entertainment and gymnasium. It would also house a facility for training which could be utilised by the companies. The project had been benchmarked against global service organisations and targeted at creating a residential enclave that catered to the specific needs of young single employees working in the industry.

Exclusive blocks have been earmarked for women with tight security arrangements.
