Sagar, MP, Feb 14 (UNI) Despite the Congress high command's directive to its Madhya Pradesh leaders not to organise personal rallies, All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former chief minister Digvijay Singh's supporters are adamant about conducting a rally here tomorrow.

Party President Sonia Gandhi's directive was a measure to check alleged groupism. The right to organise rallies would vest with the Pradesh Congress Committee and district committees.

Meanwhile, factionalism came to the fore when the party's Sagar District President (Urban) Jagdeesh Yadav and President (Rural) Kalpatri Devi said at a press conference that tomorrow's rally had been postponed.

On the other hand, former minister Lakshminarayan Yadav and state Congress Vice-President Prem Mishra said at another press conference that the rally would take place and be attended by Mr Singh, Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria and MLA Ajay Singh.

''Disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate the high command's directive,'' Congress' Madhya Pradesh unit supremo Subhash Yadav told UNI over telephone from Delhi.

Alleged rivalry between Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mr Singh emerged in a few recent rallies. Mr Scindia's supporters staged a rally here on January 27.
