ULFA militant shot dead

Guwahati, Feb 14 (UNI) A hardcore ULFA militant was killed and another militant was injured following an encounter with the army personnel near Manabhum Reserve Forest in Lohit district of Arnuachal Pradesh bordering upper Asom this morning.

Police sources said a four-member team of ULFA militants were on their way to Tengapani Forest in Arunachal Pradesh when they came face to face with an army team. In the ensuing encounter that lasted for about thirty minutes, one ULFA militant was killed and another militant was injured. The injured militant managed to flee with the help of other two ultras.

The deceased militant was identified as Kabin Moran, son of one Holou Moran of Kardoiguri Bishnupur village in Tinsukia district.
