Thar Express to resume operation on Feb 16
Islamabad, Feb 14 (UNI) Thar Express will resume its operation between Pakistan and India, via Zero Point and Munabao, from February 16, Pakistan Railways said.
''Seat reservations will begin at Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas reservation offices in Karachi City tomorrow, while the train is to leave Karachi Cantonment Station on Feb 16 for Zero Point station,'' said a statement.
Talking to Indian High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal here, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said, ''The resumption of Thar Express will provide opportunity to the people of both the countries to interact after a gap of half an year.'' The minister said the Indian idea of operating a freight train on Khokhrapar-Munabao track would be taken up at the foreign ministerial level.
