Sudhakar, assumes charge as Director(news) Doordarshan.

Hyderabad, Feb 14 (UNI) P J Sudhakar, a senior officer of Indian Information Service has assumed charge as Director (News), Doordarshan Kendra, Hyderabad.

Prior to this assignment, he was Director, Media&Communication, Press Information Bureau here.

Dr Sudhakar had held various positions in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He served as Editor, Yozanas, Hyderabad, Assistant, News Editor and Correspondent in the All India Radio, New Delhi and Visakhapatnam and as a News Editor in Doordarshan, Hyderabad. He also served as Dy Principal Information Officer, PIB, Bangalore, according to a release.

A highly qualified officer, Dr Sudhakar has the distinction of holding more than 70 Degress and Diplomas on various subjects and set-up a World Record.

He has won awards from NALSAR University of Law for Distinction in Arbitration Law and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan for his best research paper on Electronic Media.

He received several awards which included Dr K R Narayanan award, Dr B R Ambedkar Award, Mahatma Jyothibha Phule Award, Patanjali Award, National Integration Award and 2006 Ugadi Purskaram.
