Rs 4.28 cr development plan for Sariska
Jaipur, Feb 14 (UNI) The Rajasthan government has prepared a Rs 4.28 crore plan for the development of Sariska Sanctuary, on which work is likely to commence soon.
This was stated by the state forest and environment minister Laxmi Narayan Dave at a farmers rally at Rameshwar ghat in Khandar region in Sawai Madhopur yesterday.
Urging farmers and villagers to be watchdogs of environment, he said the increase in the number of tigers at Ranthambhore is a positive sign.
He said apart from forest workers and homeguards, Rajasthan Armed Constabulary jawans have been posted in Ranthambhore to protect the tigers. He said there is a proposal to employ retired defence personnel for park security if the need arose.
Mr Dave said a process is on to install radio trackers on tigers.
