REPCO Bank launches mobile banking unit

Chennai, Feb 14 (UNI) In a bid to support Self Help Groups (SHGs) of fishing community in Tamil Nadu, REPCO Bank today launched its mobile unit to provide loans.

The formal launching of mobile branch was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary L K Tripathy at Adyar in the city, an official release here said.

The release added that the REPCO Bank had disbursed more than Rs 20 crore for the SHGs at a low interest rate since 2002.

It had also distributed about Rs one crore for 100 SHGs of fishermen community since October 2006.

The bank also plans to provide Rs five crore for the uplift of 6000 fishermen families through SHGs within a period of six months, the release added.
