Ramayana Mela in Chitrakoot from Feb 16

Chitrakoot, Feb 14 (UNI) The four-day Ramayana Mela would begin on the banks of the river Mandakini from February 16.

''Over 1,000 religious heads, saints and seers from the country as well as other foreign nations would participate in the fair, which would be concluded on February 20,'' Ramayan Mela working president Gopal Krishna Kawariya told UNI here today.

The main attractions of the fair would be several exhibitions organised by the Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh governments, Mr Kawariya added.

Besides, 'Raas leela', religious chants and other cultural programmes have also been organised by various organisations, while Mahashivratri, which is also falling on February 16, would add to the event, he stated.

He said the preparations for the event had been completed and elaborate security arrangements had been made.
