Precious metals higher on bullish global advices

Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) Both the precious metals today surged ahead on bullish global advices with Silver up by Rs 175 per kg and Gold by Rs 55 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange on better demand.

Silver fineness opened upward at Rs 20,390 per kg. It improved smartly and closed at Rs 20,460 per kg with a huge gain of Rs 175 from its yesterday's close.

In London, the white metal also edged up at 13.94/13.97 per troy ounce against USD 13.79/13.81 per troy ounce in New York.

Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened high at Rs 9,560 and Rs 9,610 per ten gm on better buying support.

Later, the yellow metal inched up and closed at Rs 9,585 and Rs 9,635 per ten gm with a gain of Rs 50 and Rs 55 respectively from its last close.

In London, the yellow metal rose at USD 667.80/669.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 662.00/665.00 per troy ounce in New York on Tuesday.

Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 20,460 (20,285), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,585 (9,535), Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,635 (9,580).
