One arrested in news reader murder case

Vijayawada, Feb 14 (UNI) The City police here today arrested a person in connection with the recent murder of a private channel news reader.

Talking to media here, City Police Commissioner C V Anand said while one accused D Ravindra, alias Ravi (25) was arrested, the main accused G Chandra Sekhar, alias Chandu (26), was at large.

It was said the deceased Lakshmi Sujata was friendly with Chandu, the channel's make-up man. He was angry as she had neglected him.

Chandu decided to take revenge on her. He called Sujata, who was in her native place Gudivada, and asked her to meet him at a lodge in Vijayawada. When she went his room at the lodge, Chandu allegedly assaulted and stabbed her, Mr Anand added.
