Nepal's PM Koirala suffering from Hepatitis

Kathmandu, Feb 14 (UNI) The Eighty-five year old Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has been suffering from hepatitis for the past two weeks.

In a joint statement given to the local media by his personal physician Dr Madhu Ghimre and Dr Shekhar Koirala said that an evidence of "mild acute hepatitis" has been reported in the Prime Minister for the past two weeks.

''Although the features of the current illness are consistent with Acute Viral Hepatitis E, the exact cause of the illness has not been established beyond doubt and the PM has been advised to take daily rest and proper nutrition,'' they said.

Meanwhile, Sujata Koirala, the daughter of Girja Prasad Koirala said that her father's health is worsening day-by-day because of his busy schedule and lack of adequate rest.

The Prime Minister underwent a prostrate surgery in June last year at a private hospital in Bangkok.
